AirCalcs+ is a free web-based software platform that helps users calculate and compare the contaminant levels from both the Ventilation Rate Procedure (VRP) and the Indoor Air Quality Procedure (IAQP). The International Mechanical Code allows for the reduction of outside intake requirements if one can demonstrate that the contaminants resulting from using the IAQP are equal to or less than that which will result from using the VRP.

The software contains ASHRAE Equations, Space Types, Ez, as well as default values for occupant density, emission rates, and outside airflow intake per person and per square foot required in performing the calculations. The software outputs the calculations in PDF so they can be easily added to your HVAC drawings.

Outside air intake rates can be reduced by as much as 75% leading to significant HVAC equipment savings on both first cost for new construction and unit replacement projects and ongoing energy savings for the life of the building.
